PowerNota is a consulting company with core competencies in the electrical industry specific to product development and marketing.
We provide expertise in the marketing and sales of products such as surge protectors, back-up power supplies (UPS), wiring devices , occupancy sensors, GFCI’s, lighting and fan speed controls.
PowerNota’s founder and lead consultant is Matt Wakeham who holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and started his career with Underwriters Laboratories. After 8 years with UL, he moved on to Leviton Manufacturing where he spent 15 years as Director of New Product Development & Marketing in the OEM and Power Quality divisions. Matt is presently a voting member of UL Standards Technical Panels for Low-Voltage Lighting Systems (UL2108) and Surge Protective Devices (UL1449); and is also a member of the Long Island chapter for the U.S. Green Buildings Council.
Matt has been granted 7 U.S. Patents including designs for power disconnection methods, low-voltage datacom surge protectors and multiple outlet power strips. He served as chair of the IEEE working group that established standards for ac power surge protection test specifications and applications. He has authored several articles in major industry publications and been a featured speaker at many electrical association conferences over the years.
