Matt Wakeham holds a degree in Electical Engineering with 8 years experience as a Senior Project Engineer at Underwriters Laboratories and 15 more years representing a leading electrical manufacturer on several industry standards committees including IEEE and NEMA. He served as chair for IEEE working group 3.6.6 standards for test specifications and applications of surge protective devices.
Matt is presently a voting member on UL Standards Technical Panels for Surge Protective Devices, UL1449 and Low Voltage Lighting Systems, UL1208.
Extensive knowledge in product categories include surge protection, power supplies, energy management equipment, process controls, power tools, commercial food preparing equipment, power washers, wiring devices and electronic components.
Standards & Codes services include:
- Manufacturer’s representative to UL, ETL and CSA in fast-tracking your product submittals to gain required certifications in bringing products to market.
- Represent your company on industry standards and code development panels. This will enable you to know what new mandates might impact your business and how you can best position your product in the marketplace with respect to revisions to these requirements.
Memberships include IEEE Power Engineering Society, Product Safety Engineering Society, Electromagnetic Compatibility Society and IEEE Standards Association.
